Kentucky Bluegrass Awards School Library Grants (Applications Due July 1, 2008) application closed

These grants are awarded annually to at least 20 school libraries across Kentucky in an effort to put KBA books from the current program year into Kentucky schools that are financially challenged and unable to afford books to implement the program. Beginning in 2008, all applicants must be submitted by teacher/librarian teams. We are looking for pairs of teachers and librarians anxious to promote and implement Kentucky's children's choice award program at their school. The most successful school implementations of the KBA program are at schools where teachers and the school media specialist work together to promote the program and generate excitement for reading. Books won are purchased by the Kentucky Reading Association and supplied by the book publishers. Priority consideration will be given to schools that have not previously won a KBA book grant.  Questions about the grant application process can be submitted to melissa.schutt@eku.edu.

Winners will be announced by July 30.
